Created years before a cyst near his Broca’s Area explained the dissonance he often felt in conversation, this drawing shows two figures with closed mouths and a speaking mouth embedded in the wall between them. Michael Kunz never lost language, but words sometimes slipped sideways — arriving distorted, loosely tethered, or out of sync with the moment. “Mis//Comm//Uni//Cation” captures that subtle fracture: not silence, but the uneasy space where meaning strains to cross the distance between minds.
